Your approach to your presentation tells listeners a ton about you. If you seem bored or angry or anything but confident and passionate about your idea, your chance of winning them over is next to zero.

How is a Wefunder video different from typical marketing videos?

In our everyday lives, our exposure to marketing videos is typically in advertisements—TV commercials, YouTube ads, and other promotional offers. These ads sell products.

A Wefunder video is different; it sells the opportunity to invest in your company. Your job in your video is build a human connection with investors, as if you were pitching them live.

What does this mean? When you’re producing a video for Wefunder:

  1. First and foremost, show up in your video. Investors want know who they’re investing in. Your video is your chance to pitch, face-to-face. Resist the urge to fill your video with cartoons, generic stock video, or anything else that hides who’s behind your business.
  2. Then, build more layers of trust. Investors want to feel like they’re picking a winner. If you’re in the early stages of building your company, think of your video as your live pitch to a room full of potential investors on Demo Day.

Find your instructions based on your stage and resources:

1. I already have a pitch video

If you already have an up-to-date video demonstrating your pitch and you prefer not to make a new one, uploading your existing video will work just fine.
